In order to compile the bibliography on Titta Ruffo was consulted the library collection of the music section of the Titta Bernardini Library and selected the material that most contributes to tracing his figure as a man and an artist. The attention directed to his figure as an artist document how much the great Italian baritone was an undisputed protagonist in the opera scene; for his powerful voice (“lion’s voice” Lauri-Volpi defined it), for the extraordinary career that led him to tread the stages all over the world interpreting roles that have become legendary, and last but not least for his unforgettable human parable.
The list of bibliographical citations is divided by type of material. Books analyzing his artistic career; editions of My Parabola. Memoirs of Titta Ruffo; encyclopedias and dictionaries in which the entry Titta Ruffo (erroneously always listed as Ruffo, Titta) is included; articles and studies published in the music and theater journals in the library.
